There are 3 main GSM operators in Greece: Cosmote, Vodafone and Nova. The protocols for digital mobile telephone transmissions are based on GSM technology, operating at the frequencies of 900 and 1800 MHz. Please contact your provider for further details.

Tipping
In restaurants, hotels, taxis or other services, tipping is optional, and customized per case, depending on whether you are pleased with the service. Approximately 5% of the bill is a good guideline.

Τhe average temperature in Thessaloniki in July for a typical-day ranges from a high of 92°F (33°C) to a low of 69°F (21°C). Some would describe it as very warm. For comparison, the hottest month in Thessaloniki, August, has days with highs of 93°F (34°C) and lows of 70°F (21°C).

Registration fees do not include participants’ insurance against personal accidents, sickness and cancellations by any party, theft, loss or damage to personal possessions. Participants are requested to make their own arrangements with respect to health and travel insurance. ISCB and CONVIN SA as the Conference Organisers accept no liability.

Useful tips for your stay in Greece during summer
- Don’t forget to drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay dehydrated.
- In addition to sun protection, wear sunglasses and a hat when you go outdoors.
- The sun is strongest in the late morning and early afternoon, so try to avoid the midday sun.
- Wear light-colored clothing to be most comfortable during Greek summer as it will prevent overheating.
